- About the RoleWe’re looking for reliable, outdoors-oriented Soil Technicians to support mineral exploration programs across British Columbia and the Yukon. This is a hands-on field position where you’ll be collecting soil samples and environmental data in remote and rugged terrain. If you enjoy physical work, being outside in all conditions, and contributing to real exploration projects, this could be a great fit.Key Responsibilities
- Collect soil samples according to established grid and survey protocols
- Record accurate field data (GPS coordinates, terrain notes, sample logs)
- Maintain sample integrity, labeling, and chain of custody
- Traverse varied terrain on foot, often carrying equipment and samples
- Assist with camp setup/maintenance and daily field logistics
- Follow all safety procedures and environmental guidelinesWhat We’re Looking For
- Strong comfort working outdoors in remote environments (rain, cold, uneven terrain)
- Good physical fitness and ability to hike long distances with a pack
- Attention to detail and ability to follow sampling procedures precisely
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work as part of a small team
- Basic navigation skills (GPS, map reading)
- Valid driver’s license (preferred)Assets (Not Required)
- Previous experience in mineral exploration or soil sampling
- First Aid certification
- Experience with GPS devices or field data collection appsWork Conditions
- Rotational field schedules (e.g., 2–3 weeks in camp followed by time off)
- Camp-based accommodations provided
