Job Overview

This role is responsible for conducting air dispersion modelling assessments, interpreting data, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on projects involving combustion, venting, and flaring. The ideal candidate is an early‑career professional with a strong technical foundation and a genuine interest in learning the full lifecycle of air dispersion assessments—from data gathering through analysis and high‑quality technical reporting.

This position offers a unique opportunity to learn directly from experienced professionals, support clients through regulatory permitting, and actively contribute ideas.

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform air dispersion modelling assessments and regulatory analyses to support project approvals and compliance (primarily NO₂, SO₂, and H₂S emissions)
  • Collaborate with clients, engineers, project managers, and internal team members
  • Apply QA/QC procedures to modelling files, datasets, and deliverables
  • Develop clear, data‑driven technical recommendations and contribute to high‑quality reports for clients, regulators, and project teams

Must Have Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Atmospheric Science, or a related field
  • Ability to translate complex technical and regulatory information into clear, practical guidance
  • Proactive self‑starter and adaptable individual, skilled at working independently and maintaining productivity in a fast‑changing environment
  • Professional‑level written and verbal communication skills beyond chat‑based formats
  • High integrity and accountability, with a strong sense of ownership, professionalism, and respect for confidential and sensitive information
  • Highly motivated to leverage AI and automation to streamline repetitive tasks and focus on higher‑value technical and creative work
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Digitally fluent with Microsoft Office, PDF tools, cloud‑based platforms, and web‑based applications

Nice to Have Experience

  • Familiarity with air dispersion modelling software (e.g., AERFlare‑incin, AERSCREEN, AERMOD, AERH2S)
  • Working knowledge of provincial and federal environmental regulations
  • Ability to perform air emission calculations
  • Exposure to regulatory frameworks for pipelines and/or facilities in British Columbia (BCER) and/or Alberta (AER)
