A well-established Calgary-based law firm is seeking a family lawyer (3+ years call) to join its growing practice.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to join a collegial and supportive team handling a broad range of family law matters, including contested litigation. The role offers strong autonomy, meaningful client interaction, and consistent file responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a full caseload of family law matters
- Represent clients in contested proceedings and court appearances
- Draft pleadings, agreements, and court materials
- Conduct legal research and develop case strategies
- Provide practical, client-focused legal advice
- Collaborate with team members while maintaining independent file carriage
Qualifications
- Member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta (or eligible for immediate admission)
- Minimum of 3 years' post-call experience in family law
- Demonstrated courtroom advocacy experience and comfort with litigation
- Strong drafting, research, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage files independently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal and client relationship skills
- Professional, team-oriented, and solutions-focused approach
