Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief to lead field survey operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and safety. You’ll oversee a survey crew, manage equipment, and deliver high-quality data for a variety of projects, including land development, construction, and infrastructure. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to excellence.

Location

Alberta. Accommodations and meal allowance provided if travelling.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead and supervise a survey crew in the field, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.

· Conduct topographic, boundary, and construction surveys using advanced equipment (e.g., GPS, total stations, and UAV/drones).

· Plan and coordinate daily survey activities, including preparing field notes, sketches, and data collection.

· Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company standards.

· Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to meet project requirements.

· Maintain and calibrate survey equipment to ensure optimal performance.

· Process and analyze survey data, providing detailed reports and deliverables.

Qualifications

· 3+ years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief or in a similar role.

· Proficiency with survey equipment, including GPS, total stations, and data collectors.

· Strong knowledge of surveying principles, techniques, and best practices.

· Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and legal descriptions.

· Excellent leadership and team management skills.

· Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

· Proficiency in survey software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) is a plus.
