Family Lawyer Opportunity | Full-Time | Toronto, Ontario

About the Role

We are seeking a family lawyer with at least 3 years of family law experience for a full-time, on-site position in Toronto.

The successful candidate will manage files independently, communicate clearly with clients, and confidently represent them in negotiations and court proceedings.

Responsibilities

  • Manage family law files from initial consultation through settlement or trial.
  • Advise on separation, divorce, parenting arrangements, child and spousal support, property division, and domestic contracts.
  • Draft pleadings, affidavits, conference briefs, factums, motion materials, and agreements.
  • Represent clients at conferences, motions, hearings, trials, and mediations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties.
  • Maintain accurate records, meet deadlines, and provide clear, practical advice throughout each matter.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of family law experience.
  • Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
  • Experience before the Ontario Court of Justice and Superior Court of Justice.
  • Strong legal research, drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple files independently and exercise sound professional judgment.
  • Professionalism, discretion, and sensitivity when supporting clients through difficult circumstances.
  • Trial experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Clio, DivorceMate, Word, and Outlook is an asset.
