Financial Accounting & Reporting Consultant – 6-Month Contract

Our client, a successful Canadian and international organization located near the airport, is looking to add a Financial Accounting & Reporting Consultant to their team for a 6-month contract.

This is a hands-on, doer role. The successful candidate will be expected to hit the ground running and take ownership of operational accounting and year-end reporting activities.

As the Financial Accounting & Reporting Consultant, you will play a key role in operational accounting, including journal entries and audit support, as well as the preparation of financial statements and year-end reporting.

Mississauga, ON | 4 Days Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on operational accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations and adjustments
• Manage month-end and year-end close activities
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules
• Prepare and maintain detailed accounting working papers
• Handle external audit requirements and provide supporting documentation
• Perform accounting analysis and investigate discrepancies
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information
• Support financial reporting requirements and accounting-related projects as needed

To be considered, you should have

• CPA or equivalent designation
• 5+ years of direct, hands-on experience in operational accounting and financial reporting
• Strong experience with year-end accounting and financial statement preparation
• Experience supporting external audits
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work 4 days per week onsite in Mississauga
• A hands-on approach with the ability to work independently and contribute from day one

We are looking for someone who is comfortable being hands-on with the work and can step into the role quickly with minimal ramp-up time.
