Senior Consultant, Financial Accounting & Reporting (Year-End)

Our client, a successful Canadian and international organization located in Mississauga near the airport, is seeking a hands-on Senior Consultant, Financial Accounting & Reporting for a contract engagement.

This role is ideal for a designated accounting professional with strong operational accounting experience and a proven track record in month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, and financial statement preparation.

Duration: 6 months Contract

Location: Mississauga, ON

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting and reporting activities.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting working papers.
• Prepare financial statements and related reporting schedules.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records and reporting.
• Investigate accounting discrepancies and resolve outstanding reconciliation items.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing audit schedules, working papers, and supporting documentation.
• Review general ledger accounts and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in the appropriate reporting period.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and meet reporting deadlines.

Qualifications

• CPA designation or equivalent professional accounting qualification required.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on operational accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Strong experience with month-end and year-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Ability to work independently and deliver results in a hands-on contract role.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Mississauga 4 days per week.
