ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES TECHNOLOGIST– (Permanent, Full-time)

NATURE OF POSITION: Hiring one (1) permanent, full-time Environmental Services Technologist in the Environmental Services department.

Under the general supervision of the Manager of Environmental Programs and Compliance or designate, the Environmental Services Technologist will be a key player in setting up and implementing environmental and monitoring programs beneficial to the Regional District Solid Waste facilities to ensure regulatory compliance and future growth.

Responsibilities will include evaluating and preparing recommendations regarding development, acquisition, and implementation of existing pollution control infrastructure; assessing and advising of environmentally beneficial improvements, defining, and developing procedures and reporting protocols to meet and ensure that safety, environmental and regulatory requirements are adopted and met.

The Environmental Services Technologist will also provide technical expertise on pollution control infrastructure to staff, contractors, and consultants including conducting training and demonstrating all aspects of equipment, maintenance, and monitoring.

RATE OF PAY: $55.47 per hour (January 1, 2026 rate)
