MGL Lawyers is currently seeking an Immigration Case Analyst to join our growing immigration practice.

We are a full-service immigration law firm in downtown Ottawa serving clients across Canada and internationally. MGL Lawyers prides itself on a personalized approach to client service. Please note that this is an in-person position based in Ottawa, Ontario. This is not a remote position.

Job Description

  • Assisting with client intake and scheduling consultations;
  • Managing various administrative duties including: maintaining case management database, directing client contact including phone calls, emails, and postal correspondence, and contacting IRCC and Canadian consulates/embassies;
  • Monitoring emails, client correspondence, and responding to inquiries;
  • Proactively managing (two or more) lawyers’ schedules with respect to meetings with clients and ensuring filing deadlines are met;
  • Assisting with the preparation of applications for temporary residence, permanent residence, and Canadian citizenship; and
  • Other duties as required and assigned.

Remuneration

  • $45,000.00 CAD to $49,000.00 CAD per annum, commensurate with experience
  • Eligible to join group benefits after 3 months’ probationary period

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience with Canadian immigration law;
  • College/CEGEP or University degree;
  • Knowledge of Canadian immigration policies, practices and procedures;
  • Knowledge of and experience working with Google Workspace;
  • Knowledge of and experience working with Clio Grow and Clio Manage;
  • Strong organizational and file management skills;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to work in a team; and
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines.

Asset Qualifications

  • Bilingualism (French & English) is an asset
  • Paralegal license (P1) or RCIC license (L1, L2, or L3) is an asset
  • Administrative Services or Legal Assistant experience in an immigration setting is an asset
