As ENG/EFP Camera Operator, you will operate portable mobile cameras and related peripherals to compose shots and visual effects via original framing and camera angles. In so doing, you must meet and anticipate the production’s desired objectives as well as artistic, dramatic and other intentions. You will also co-ordinate the setup and checking of equipment under your control as well as execute the transfer of all material gathered.

Please note that you will be required to work a variety of weekday and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

  • College diploma in TV production and post-production techniques or other relevant field.
  • Five (5) years’ related experience doing production and/or camera work for programs, news and/or remote broadcasts.

Skills

  • Solid non-linear editing experience (Avid an asset).
  • Knowledge of editing, audio, lighting and camera work, as well as computers.
  • Excellent knowledge and command of spoken and written French.
  • Good knowledge of English an asset.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Creativity and initiative.
  • Ability to make quality decisions quickly and independently.
  • Knowledge of and interest in current events in the Lower St. Lawrence region.
  • Digital production experience an asset.
  • Knowledge of how to operate Presentation Centre equipment an asset.
  • Valid driver’s licence (Class 5) as well as a driving record that meets the minimum requirements of CBC/Radio-Canada’s insurance company.
