POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Superintendent of Education, the Manager of Mental Health and Wellness provides system-level leadership, management, and strategic direction for student mental health services and mental health promotion across the system. The position is responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the Board’s Mental Health and Addictions Strategy, annual action plans, student mental health service pathways, crisis response supports, professional learning, and related policies, protocols, and procedures. The Manager also supports staff mental health promotion through prevention-focused resources, mental health literacy, wellness awareness, and professional learning in collaboration with senior administration and other system partners.

QUALIFICATIONS

A university degree from a recognized institution in Psychology / Mental Health is required. A Master’s Degree in a related profession is preferred. A Regulated Health Professional and registered member in good standing of a related professional regulatory body in Ontario. A minimum of 7 years of experience in mental health capacity building and literacy is required. 10 years of experience, including experience in a School Board environment, is preferred. Demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively within an interdisciplinary team. Experience designing and facilitating professional learning for the purposes of building capacity with mental health professionals, educators, adults, youth, and families. This position will require a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) at the employee’s expense
