About the role
The Hospital strives to deliver care that is centred on patients and families. Patient and Family Centred Care (PFCC)
is the provision of care that is respectful of, and responsive to individual patient/family preferences, needs, and values
and ensures that those values guide all decisions. Creating a caring environment for patients and families ensures
continuity of care and fosters a learning environment. Applicants are required to have a demonstrated knowledge,
understanding and commitment to this care philosophy.
Collaborates with team members and end users to provide leadership and expertise in optimizing health information
systems. Leverages specialized knowledge of information systems and data management to review processes,
identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend changes that enhance safety, efficiency, and quality of care.
The HIS Informatics Specialist also brings a strong understanding of hospital workflows to ensure system solutions
align with clinical and operational needs.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience
- A diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education is
required
- Experience in a hospital/diagnostic environment
Skills/Abilities
- Strong communication skills that effectively promote the vision, values and mission of the organizations supported
by IS/IT and the IS/IT strategic plan
- Teaching Skills
- Computer skills
- Planning and project management skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects at one time
Assets
- Experience and knowledge with Meditech CWS and Registration modules
- Experience and knowledge with Novari
- Current knowledge in related field
- Knowledge and capabilities in building and maintaining computer applications
- Knowledge of policies, procedures, standards and best practice guidelines
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 software including Word, Excel and Project
- ITIL Foundations Certification
- PMP Certification
Salary Range: $45.720 to 57.160
The Health Sciences Centre strives to ensure the safety and security of the patients, visitors, employees and assets
