Nature of the Position

The work involves providing customer service and information to residents regarding the various activities, programs, and services offered by the City and its partners, while supporting the operations and initiatives of the Public Works Department.

Working Conditions

Main Responsibilities

  • Process requests from the public for information and ensuring accurate responses by using the tools at his disposal or by taking the proper steps with the responsible departments and organizations, when required.
  • Ensure the provision of service required in accordance with the level of delegation of activities negotiated with the departments.
  • Receive, analyze, process and ensure the follow-up of requests, complaints, comments
  • or suggestions and claims of the public.
  • Collect various sums of money, for example, from private contractors.
  • Take note of the various projects in his division and thus contribute to the setting up
  • of a plan for the needs of the population.
  • Initiate or take part in information meetings or problem solving process with
  • participants concerned in cooperation with his immediate superior.
  • Responsible for welcoming participants to consultation meetings and participating in
  • various public events such as the urban waste drop-off, compost distribution, spring
  • cleaning and some public kiosks.
  • Ensure that his knowledge is up to date, that the instruments at his disposal are updated
  • and that informational documents are available for the public.
  • Act as commissioner of oaths.
  • Draft, where required, certain explanatory or informational documents.
  • Guide and direct the work of a few employees assigned to related duties and check the quality of the work carried out.
  • Use various equipment and systems, as may be required, to perform certain tasks
  • related to the job, using appropriate programming.
  • Undertake any other related duty.

Qualifications and Education

  • The work is carried out under supervision and according to general instructions and directives;
  • the work is evaluated according to the results achieved.
  • High School Diploma
  • Possess four (4) years experience in a job that allows the person holding the position to
  • become familiar with this line of work
