Principal Electrical Engineer

About The Position

• Assessing and evaluating existing electrical systems.
• Leading the design of electrical building systems for renovation and new build projects.
• Collaborating with design team and mentor design staff to produce schematic design, design development, tender, and construction documents that meet the project requirements within the allocated schedule and budget.
• Overseeing development of design concepts and ensuring proper application and execution.
• Conducting site surveys, gathering critical field data and performing condition assessments.
• Maintaining and expanding current knowledge of technologies and trends, as they apply to applicable projects and continually strengthening skills.
• Maintaining relationships with existing clients and pursuing new opportunities.
• Develop and maintain design practices and standards for a new electrical department.
• Develop and mentor staff within the electrical department.

Qualifications

• A registered Professional Electrical Engineer with strong leadership skills.
• A minimum of 10 years of related experience.
• A working knowledge of Revit MEP for the production of drawings is preferred. (Training will be provided as required.)
• Strong design skills, motivated by a collaborative environment.
