Estimator – Civil Construction

We’re looking for an experienced Estimator to join our growing Estimating team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in preparing competitive bids and helping North Star win high-profile civil construction projects across Alberta.

What You’ll Do:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and submit tenders for civil projects (underground utilities, earthworks, road construction, and site development)
• Develop full tender packages and construction methodologies
• Solicit and analyze pricing from subcontractors and suppliers
• Collaborate with project managers and field teams to build accurate estimates and schedules
• Manage bid revisions, change orders, and post-bid handovers
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors

What We’re Looking For:

• 3+ years of construction estimating experience focused on Civil Construction
• Strong knowledge of underground utilities, earthworks, or surface works
• Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and specifications
• Solid understanding of different contract types (Unit Price, Fixed Price, Cost Plus)
• Advanced Excel skills (experience with B2W estimating software is a strong asset)
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

Nice to have: Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, and safety certifications (CSTS, Ground Disturbance, etc.).
