Who You Are
The Design Engineer role is responsible for the design, development, and continuous improvement of K-Hart’s farm equipment. This role focuses on creating practical, reliable, and innovative solutions that perform in real-world farming conditions. You enjoy working hands-on with equipment, translating ideas into functional designs, and collaborating with manufacturing and test teams to bring products to life. You are detail-oriented, solutions-focused, and motivated by seeing your designs perform in the field.
Key Responsibilities
The Duties and Responsibilities of the Design Engineer role are focused on supporting the development and improvement of K-Hart’s products:
- Develop system and component designs to meet set objectives of performance, cost, durability, etc.
- Develop CAD models, drawings, specifications, schematics, and other supporting information.
- Perform Engineering analysis of designs using hand calculations and simulation software(s) to confirm design capabilities.
- Select materials, manufacturing processes and vendors.
- Design and support prototype(s) build and testing.
- Support production build.
- Support development of product and service-related publications.
- Able to travel 10% of the time for 1-2 weeks at a time.
- Other duties as assigned.
What Sets You Apart?
· Undergraduate degree in Engineering or Engineering Technologist Diploma (Mechanical or Agricultural preferred)
· Experience in design of agricultural or heavy equipment
· Proficiency in CAD software and engineering drawings
· Strong mechanical aptitude
· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
· Experience working with manufacturing teams and vendors
· Practical, hands-on mindset
