Early Childhood Educator II
Full-time Term Position
Department : NorWest Early Learning and Child Care Centre
Position : Early Childhood Educator II (Frontline Staff)
Status : 4-month term position with possibility of extension
Hours : Full-time, 40 hours/week
Shift : Must be available Monday to Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Rate : $27.56–$31.49/hour (as per CUPE Daycare Collective Agreement)
Start Date : As soon as possible
Qualifications:
- Classification as Early Childhood Educator II
- Strong interpersonal, team building, and leadership skills
- Current first-aid and CPR certification
- Good understanding of Early Learning and Child Care Program’s Regulations
- Must be energetic, friendly and enthusiastic
- Must be willing to take initiative
- Willingness to work with children who require additional support
- Experience in implementing activities for infant an asset
- Subject to successful criminal record check and investigation authorization/child abuse registry check.
Responsibilities
- To ensure the physical care and safety of the children.
- To provide emotional support and nurturing care to children
- To provide children with the opportunity for optimum growth and development
- To follow Centre’s behaviour management policy
- To maintain confidentiality; follow licensing regulations, to know and follow Centre policies and procedures.
- Mentor staff
- Communicate regularly and effectively with families /outside agencies
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
