LEGAL Representative

The Manitoban Newspaper Publications Corporation (MNPC), the organization responsible for publishing the Manitoban, is looking for a legal representative to sit on its Board of Directors.

Responsibilities: As a board member, you’d be responsible for attending meetings every 6-8 weeks where we hear reports from the executive staff, review financial updates, and also oversee hiring for the two executive staff members once every year. Board members are not involved in the day-to-day operations of the paper, but do play a critical role in the long-term development of the organization.

Requirements: The applicant should be working in a legal profession or have a background in law. Familiarity with the University of Manitoba is an asset, as is experience with boards, non-profits, or media operations.
