Purpose of your Position - Non Union
We are seeking Presiding and Alternate Presiding Election Officials to assist with the upcoming General Local Election in October.
The Presiding Election Official (PEO) manages the voting location, including staff, and is responsible for the integrity of the voting machines and ballots. The PEO reports to the Chief Election Officer and prepares the ballot account summary.
The Alternate Presiding Election Official (APEO) supports various election officials, registers non-resident property electors and looks after ballot accounting. The APEO also monitors voting booth lines, directing voters as needed and providing information on how to use the voting machines.

Special Instructions to Applicant
Attendance at two training sessions is mandatory – one for PEO/APEO only, the second with your election staff team.
You will be scheduled to work a maximum of two voting days, not including the training sessions.
Hours of work: 7:00 am to 9:30 pm with onsite breaks only.
Location: varies throughout the City.
Preference will be given to City of Kelowna residents. Only those applicants being considered will be contacted. Please ensure you provide a daytime contact number and email address.
You will be asked to provide a brief overview of your employment history for the last 5 years with your application (providing a resume is optional).
Please note that as an election worker you are not considered an employee of the City; this is a temporary assignment related to the election only.

Additional Hiring Information PEO Rate of pay:$550 per day
APEO Rate of pay:$440 per day
Mandatory training attendance required; $50 training allowance applies.
