PROOFS & PRE-PRESS ASSISTANT (SECOND SHIFT)

Monday to Friday, 2:30pm to 10:30pm

Full-Time, Permanent

LOCATION: #1-5295 John Lucas Drive, Burlington, ON L7L 6A8

Do you have a keen eye for colours and a great attention to detail? Do you enjoy problem solving? Are you a pro with the Adobe Creative Suite and have an interest in the digital printing industry? If yes, ROOTREE is looking for you! Our Proofs & Pre-Press Assistant is responsible for ensuring files are created quickly and accurately to feed our production processes. Our ideal candidate is organized, works well under pressure, and has great communication skills.

Skills & Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in pre-press art management
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite - Specifically high skill in Illustrator and InDesign
  • Digital Print and Colour Management knowledge an asset
  • Knowledge of HP Smartstream and Variable Data Printing would be an asset
  • Art Proofing and Content Review skills an asset

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-flight and pre-press tasks
  • Send proofs to customers
  • Prepare & Submit art files for printing presses
  • Build white layers on art files for special effects and windows
  • Generate, manage, and ensure accuracy and scalability of barcodes
  • Perform colour and content checks
  • Ensure print-readiness of art files
  • Ensure colour accuracy of customer colour targets
  • Use Adobe Creative Suite programs extensively
  • Learn and work with equipment/industry-specific software and interfaces for printing press, colour management, etc.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team to ensure efficiency and accuracy
  • Learn & understand basic HP Indigo printing press capabilities
  • Work under pressure
  • Work with Creative Team as required
  • Be accountable for work performed
  • Gain a solid understanding of proofs process and sizes in order to build production files
  • Learn & Understand product offerings, specs and manufacturing capabilities
  • All other duties, as required.
