Vice President, Research, Development & Technology
Location: Burlington, Ontario, Canada
EcoSynthetix is seeking an exceptional technology leader to join our Executive Leadership Team as Vice President, Research, Development & Technology.
This is more than a traditional R&D leadership role. We are looking for a commercially minded executive who can translate customer needs into innovative, sustainable biomaterial solutions that drive growth and create long-term customer value.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead the Company's innovation strategy, product development, applications development, intellectual property portfolio, and technology roadmap while serving as EcoSynthetix's senior technical ambassador to customers, strategic partners, and industry leaders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing EcoSynthetix's innovation and technology strategy
- Leading the commercialization of our EcoSphere, SurfLock, and Bioform technology platforms
- Building strong strategic relationships with customers and partners to accelerate adoption of renewable materials
- Driving product development from concept through commercialization and manufacturing scale-up
- Leading intellectual property strategy and expanding our technology portfolio
- Building and developing a high-performing, customer-focused RD&T organization
The successful candidate will bring:
- A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or a related discipline
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in industrial R&D, product development, and commercialization
- A proven track record of leading customer-driven innovation and successfully commercializing new technologies
- Experience in biomaterials, specialty chemicals, polymers, adhesives, coatings, paper, packaging, renewable materials, or related industries
- Outstanding leadership, commercial, and communication skills
