Roland Michener Secondary School is located in the town of Slave Lake in northern Alberta, in the Municipal District of Lesser Slave River. It is located 257 km north of Edmonton on the southeast shore of Lesser Slave Lake at the junction of Highway 2 and Highway 88.

Roland Michener Secondary School is a Grade 7 to 12 school with an enrollment of approximately 620 students and 60 staff. Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Micro-Credential Programming Teacher to support our growing micro-credential program at the senior high level. This programming gives Grade 10–12 students the opportunity to explore career interests while earning CTS credits aligned to industry-recognized learning, offering flexible, personalized pathways that ladder directly into dual credit and post-secondary opportunities with partner institutions including Northwestern Polytechnic, NorQuest College, Olds College, Portage College, and Saskatchewan Polytechnic. The successful candidate will be highly organized and collaborative, with the ability to manage and monitor student course completion across a variety of flexible timetable configurations.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have completed a Bachelor of Education Degree
  • Must have (or be eligible to obtain) an Alberta Teaching Certificate or proof of application from .
  • TQS or proof of application from the Alberta Teachers’ Association.
  • Strong organizational and collaborative skills, with experience monitoring and tracking student progress across independent or flexible programming considered an asset
  • Successful candidates must produce an ORIGINAL, acceptable, recent (less than six months old)
