Role Description
The Physiotherapist is a full-time, on-site role based in Truro, NS. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing patients’ physical function, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering hands-on therapy and exercise-based interventions. The Physiotherapist will monitor progress, adjust treatment as needed, and educate patients on injury prevention, self-management strategies, and long-term wellness. The role involves collaborating with other healthcare professionals, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, and contributing to a safe and respectful clinic environment. The Physiotherapist may also participate in community outreach, patient education events, and continuous improvement of clinical services.
Qualifications
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physiotherapist in Nova Scotia or able to apply for provisional license, with a recognized degree in Physiotherapy or Physical Therapy.
- Demonstrated ability to assess, diagnose, and treat a range of musculoskeletal, neurological, and orthopedic conditions using evidence-based practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
- Proficiency in clinical documentation, case management, and use of electronic medical records or clinic management software.
- Commitment to professional development, including participation in continuing education, specialized training, or relevant certifications.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload, prioritize tasks, and maintain high standards of care in a busy clinical setting.
- Experience in private practice, sports rehabilitation, or community-based care is an asset.
- Comfort providing inclusive, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive care to patients of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
