ROLE DESCRIPTION
As an Inspector, you’ll assess ICI flat roofing systems and collect accurate field data to support clear, client-ready roof condition reports. You’ll review prior leak & work history when applicable, inspect roofing elements to determine condition for potential maintenance, repair or replacement requirements.
Working closely with Sales, Administration and Operations, you’ll help ensure reports are delivered accurately and on time, and that approved work details are handed off properly for successful execution. You’ll verify completed work standards were met, while providing support with leak investigation & repair during peak times. This role is ideal for someone who’s organized, detail-oriented, and confident communicating findings and recommendations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prior to inspection, review leak/work history related to inspection location;
- Inspect various types of roofing systems to determine condition, life expectancy, and identify maintenance, repair, or replacement requirements;
- Provide pricing for maintenance, repair, and replacement requirements;
- Update existing drawings to reflect changes and submit to Draftsperson;
- Generate clear and accurate roof sketches for locations not previously inspected and submit to Draftsperson;
- Verify all previously completed work has been fully and properly executed;
- Work closely with Sales and Administration teams to ensure the efficient and accurate delivery of roof condition reports to clients;
- Review approved work and ensure accurate information is provided to Operations to allow for successful completion;
- Assist Operations with leak investigation/repair during high call volume periods;
- Ability to mentor/train crew members or provide constructive feedback to field teams based on inspection findings;
- Meet all deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED)
- 10 years minimum of flat roofing experience;
- Exceptional knowledge of all flat roof systems and elements;
- Strong organizational and time management skills ;
- Problem solving and critical thinking;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
QUALIFICATIONS (ASSETS / PREFERRED)
- Comfortable working in a digital workflow with day-to-day tools (email, file management, cloud uploads);
- Experience creating professional digital inspection reports with photos/notes and strong computer-based reporting skills;
- Ability to organize, rename, and upload large sets of site photos accurately (clear labeling, folders, and documentation for reporting/records);
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (especially Word/Excel/Outlook) for writing findings, tracking deficiencies, and communicating with internal teams and clients;
- Familiarity with construction/plan and document tools is an asset.
