The opportunity…

This is a permanent, full-time position, working 75 hours bi-weekly.

The Housing Operations branch plays a critical role in ensuring effective management of over 900 community housing units across 14 communities, territory wide. The branch is responsible for the day-to-day operations related to community housing, including lease management, rent collection, and support services to tenants to help them maintain their tenancies successfully.

Reporting to the Manager, Housing Programs this position provides leadership and oversight of the client service function ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery across the organization, including in communities outside Whitehorse. The position establishes and monitors client service standards, supports staff development and performance, and collaborates with internal branches and external partners to support effective program delivery. The role serves as an escalation point for complex client inquiries and complaints, applying trauma-informed and culturally sensitive approaches to resolve issues. The role also supports the implementation of new programs, policies and systems, oversees administrative and financial processes related to Tenancy Supports programs, and manages secure access to confidential income information required to assess eligibility and calculate rent.

  • Post-secondary education in social services, business administration or a related discipline
  • Experience supervising client service teams preferably including coordinating work across multiple locations
  • Experience overseeing the financial administration of programs, including monitoring payments, financial controls or budgeting processes
  • Demonstrated work experience applying legislation and/or policies to administer programs
  • Experience leading or improving client service delivery, including developing or implementing service standards, operational processes or continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience responding to or resolving complex or escalated client issues
