We’re seeking a talented Construction Estimator to help formalize and lead our estimating function, playing a key role in our next phase of growth.

Opportunity

As a Construction Estimator at West Sixth, you'll be responsible for full-cycle estimating — from early project scoping to bid submission and handoff to project execution. This role includes direct collaboration with the Project Manager and company leadership to help build structured estimating processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Estimating: Develop detailed cost estimates for residential and commercial projects using quantity takeoffs, trade quotes, and historical data.
• Bid Development: Prepare and submit competitive proposals and tender packages.
• Preconstruction Support: Participate in design and value engineering reviews.
• Process Development: Create and implement estimating standards, templates, and procedures to formalize an internal estimating system.
• Project Coordination: Assist the Project Manager with scheduling, scope review, budgeting, and subcontractor alignment.
• Client & Subcontractor Communication: Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and availability.
• Document Management: Maintain detailed estimate records, assumptions, and project documentation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in estimating in the construction industry.
• Proficient with estimating tools (e.g. Bluebeam, Excel, or cloud-based estimating software).
• Familiarity with construction drawings, scopes, and industry pricing.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience developing or improving internal systems or workflows is an asset
• A diploma/degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred
