St. Albert Public Schools is currently recruiting a Full Time, Probationary, Caretaker 4 for an initial work assignment with Facilities Services at Joseph M. Demko School .

Hours of Work : 37.50 hrs./week; 7.5 hrs./day Monday-Friday; Full Time, Probationary

Hours will be : 3pm-11pm

Hourly Rate: $23.55 per hour, as per the CUPE Collective Agreement

Position Summary

The successful candidate will be assigned to a work location based on the Division's operational needs and must be willing and able to work at, and relocate between, Division sites as required . Under the direction of the Assistant Manager of Facilities Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning designated areas of Division facilities, performing minor maintenance tasks, and fostering positive working relationships with staff, students, and community user groups.

Specific Needs/Requirements for this position

• This work involves routine cleaning and minor maintenance tasks to maintain school buildings and property.
• Entry level knowledge of cleaning equipment operation as well as the chemicals and cleaning products used.
• Ability to lift and handle cleaning equipment and furniture.
• Basic knowledge of repair procedures.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Up to 6 months experience in building cleaning.
• WHMIS training would be an asset.
