About The Opportunity

Our client, a well established and growing Ottawa based manufacturer, is seeking two Production Supervisors to join its Operations team. With a strong order pipeline and continued growth, the organization is expanding its production capacity by introducing a second shift and modernizing its manufacturing operations. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative leadership team where you will play a key role in driving productivity, developing employees, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will lead production teams across an entire shift, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards while fostering a positive, accountable, and collaborative workplace culture.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Lead and coach production employees and Lead Hands to achieve daily production objectives
  • Coordinate labour, materials, and workflow to meet production schedules and delivery targets
  • Monitor productivity, quality, safety, and operational performance across the shift
  • Identify production bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve efficiency
  • Support workforce planning, scheduling, attendance management, and vacation coordination
  • Promote and enforce health and safety policies and company procedures
  • Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Scheduling, and other departments to resolve operational issues
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee development
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support process changes throughout the plant
  • Maintain accurate production reporting and communicate operational updates to plant leadership

About You

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Post secondary education in Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum five years of experience in a manufacturing environment with progressive leadership experience as a Team Lead, Lead Hand, or Production Supervisor
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and people management skills
  • Experience in a unionized manufacturing or construction environment is considered a strong asset
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement methodologies, root cause analysis, and production planning
  • Experience interpreting production schedules, manufacturing drawings, and operational metrics
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Experience with ERP or production management systems is considered an asset
  • Strong communication, problem solving, organizational, and relationship building skills
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset

About the Job

  • Position: Permanent, Full Time
  • Salary: $78,000 to $85,000 annually, based on experience
  • Location: Ottawa, Ontario
  • Work Environment: Full time onsite manufacturing environment
  • Shift: Monday to Friday, either 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with flexibility to support both shifts as operational needs require
