We are hiring a highly skilled

Business Analyst / Product Owner to bridge the gap between business objectives and technology solutions for large-scale public transit initiatives. This role will support the definition, prioritization, and delivery of IT software products and features that enhance transit operations, particularly within the public sector and bus services domain.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in business analysis, product ownership, Agile delivery, stakeholder management, and requirements engineering, with demonstrated experience supporting transit agency operations, public sector environments, and technology-driven business transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Analysis & Requirements Management
  • Conduct detailed analysis of business processes, workflows, systems, and operational challenges within transit agency and public sector environments.
  • Gather, analyze, validate, and document business requirements using various elicitation techniques, including stakeholder interviews, workshops, and collaborative sessions.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation including:
    • Business requirements documents
    • User stories
    • Use cases
    • Functional specifications
    • Process flows
    • Data models
    • System diagrams
  • Perform gap analysis and recommend technology and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Translate business needs into clear and actionable requirements for technical delivery teams.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to optimize business processes and system capabilities.
  • Product Ownership & Agile Delivery
  • Serve as the primary connection between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, representing business priorities and customer needs.
  • Define, manage, and prioritize product backlogs based on business value, strategic objectives, and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and project teams throughout the Agile Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including:
    • Sprint planning
    • Daily stand-ups
    • Sprint reviews
    • Retrospectives
  • Convert high-level requirements into detailed user stories with clearly defined acceptance criteria.
  • Facilitate stakeholder discussions, decision-making, and conflict resolution to support successful product delivery.
  • Coordinate and oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities to validate solution quality and business alignment.
  • Monitor delivered solutions after implementation and identify opportunities for enhancements and optimization.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
  • Build strong relationships with business users, technical teams, project managers, and leadership stakeholders.
  • Facilitate productive meetings and workshops with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Communicate complex business and technical concepts clearly through presentations, documentation, and discussions.
  • Drive collaboration, alignment, and consensus among diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Act as a proactive contributor with strong ownership and accountability for assigned initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

    • CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner)
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of UX/UI principles and user-centered design practices.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting digital transformation initiatives within government or transportation sectors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Transportation Planning, Public Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience delivering business analysis and product ownership activities in complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of public sector stakeholder management, procurement processes, and regulatory considerations.
  • Ability to analyze complex business challenges and translate them into effective technology solutions.
  • Strong collaboration skills with technical teams, business users, and leadership groups.
