Laboratory Technologist I

This is a multisite position in which most scheduled shifts will be at Westview Laboratory. Shifts at Devon and Leduc will only be as needed to support operations. Stony Plain, Devon and Leduc are all towns in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region of Alberta, that is surrounded by Parkland County. Stony Plain is approximately 40 minutes West of Edmonton adjacent to the City of Spruce Grove and sits on Treaty 6 land. Devon is approximately 26 km southwest of Edmonton and Leduc is immediately south of the City of Edmonton.

As a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) I, you will be responsible for the daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting of diagnostic samples within the laboratory department. You will perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures in the processing of specimens used in diagnosis, treatment and research.

Required Qualifications

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).

Additional Required Qualifications

Experience in the last year with the Beaker module of Epic and Wellsky. Experience in the last year with phlebotomy.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the last year with the following analyzers: XT3400, Access2, Sysmex and Caresphere, Clinitek, ACL coagulation analyzers.
