Accounting Manager

Role Summary

Interested in joining an energetic and professional accounting firm that is a trusted business advisor to local owner managed businesses and not-for-profits?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and diligent accounting manager who will help support our clients and their businesses.

Banked overtime policy in place. Flexible working hours and work from home arrangements to be discussed.

Key Responsibilities

· Managing a portfolio of clients and projects and developing positive working relationships

· Review bookkeeping, compilation engagements, and tax returns prepared by team members

· Preparation of compilation engagements including financial statements and corporate tax returns

· Assistance with review, audit, and consulting engagements

· Review and preparation of GST, T4 and T5 information returns, and personal tax returns

· Oversight and review of payroll

· Mentoring, motivating, and training team members

· Willingness to learn and grasps new concepts quickly

· Detail oriented and strong organizational skills

· Strong critical thinking skills

· Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

Experience

· P rofessional designation required (CPA, CA)

· Minimum five years public practice experience, preferably in a small or mid-sized firm

· Proficiency with software including Caseware, Profile, and Microsoft Office

· Familiar with QuickBooks Online and Xero (preferred)

Education

· Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
