Course description: Design of surveys, sources of bias, randomized response surveys. Techniques of sampling; stratification, clustering, unequal probability selection. Sampling inference, estimates of population mean and variances, ratio estimation. Observational data; correlation vs. causation, missing data, sources of bias.

Size of appointment: 150 hrs

Sessional dates of appointment: September 1, 2026 - December 31, 2026; Tutorials.Fri: 3:00-4:00 PM, 4:00-5:00 PM

Salary: $55.25/hour + 4% vacation pay

Minimum qualifications: Knowledge of probability models and statistical inference, sampling methods, R software

Preferred qualifications: Completion of the course and possibly other Stats courses with high grades, strong interpersonal and communication skills

Relevant criterion: Previous experience is the more relevant criterion than the need to acquire experience in respect of this posted position.

Description of duties: Running tutorials, office hours, Piazza, marking, test/exam invigilation, support students projects
