The Opportunity

As a Registered Practical Nurse at Chartwell, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of our residents. Your clinical expertise, empathy, and commitment to a positive resident experience will help create a safe, welcoming environment where residents feel supported, valued, and cared for every day.
What You’ll Do
- Provide professional nursing care in accordance with the provincial College of Nurses standards, legislative requirements, and Chartwell policies
- Monitor residents’ health status, administer medications and treatments, and accurately document care
- Support residents during their transition into the residence, ensuring they and their families feel comfortable and informed
- Respond to resident or family concerns promptly, taking appropriate action or escalating as needed
- Collaborate with allied health professionals, and the interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care
- Provide leadership and guidance to personal support workers and other care staff
- Participate in team meetings, care conferences, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors, and staff
What You’ll Bring
- Current registration and in good standing with the provincial College of Nurses
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Experience working in care, retirement, or healthcare (an asset)
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to engage with residents, families, and colleagues
- A passion for delivering person-centered care and enhancing the resident experience

Additional Requirements
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening required
- Physical ability to assist residents and perform tasks involving standing, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling
- Preparedness to respond to emergency situations quickly and effectively
- Clear Criminal Background Check, VSS and TB Test where required
