Senior ETL Developer – Snowflake in Canada

We are looking for a Senior ETL Developer with strong Snowflake Data Cloud expertise to lead modern data engineering and architecture initiatives for our client in Calgary, Canada.

Role: Senior ETL Developer – Snowflake

Location: Calgary, Canada — Onsite

Contract: 6 Months

Domain: Data Engineering | Cloud Data | Analytics & AI

Key Responsibilities

• Design scalable Snowflake data platforms using Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold).
• Develop ETL/ELT, CDC, ingestion, transformation, and data-quality solutions.
• Implement Snowflake governance, RBAC, security, masking, row-access policies, and cost optimization.
• Build and support pipelines using Snowpipe, Python, SQL, Stored Procedures, and IDMC.
• Work with modern Snowflake capabilities including Cortex Analyst/Search, Snowflake Intelligence, Marketplace, and AI agents.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and mentor junior team members.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data engineering, data warehousing, or data architecture.
• 4+ years of hands-on Snowflake experience.
• Production experience with Medallion Architecture.
• Strong Python, SQL, IDMC, Git, and Azure DevOps/CI-CD skills.
• Experience with Power BI/QLIK and process orchestration such as Control-M.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Railway/transportation domain experience is an asset.
