The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound logistics, daily production scheduling, inventory planning, material availability, production supply ordering, reporting, and communication with carriers, external warehouses, and internal stakeholders. The position supports efficient plant operations by ensuring timely shipments, accurate inventory management, and uninterrupted production flow.

Key activities

  • Coordinate and track inbound and outbound shipments, including load scheduling, dock assignments, carrier communications, and external warehouse coordination to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
  • Create sales orders, manage co-packing activities, and process return material authorizations (RMAs).
  • Develop and maintain daily production schedules based on raw material availability, production constraints, inventory levels, and operational requirements.
  • Monitor raw material and finished goods inventory, coordinate material deliveries and product transfers, and help prevent shortages and product expiry.
  • Order and manage production and shipping supplies while supporting efficient plant operations.
  • Ensure accurate shipping, receiving, inventory, and export documentation, maintaining data integrity across company systems.
  • Generate and maintain operational reports, KPI tracking, and related records to support business decisions.
  • Oversee shipping employee timekeeping and labour allocation records.
  • Provide timely communication and professional support to internal teams, carriers, warehouse partners, contractors, visitors, and drivers.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve shipping, inventory, and scheduling issues while ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Support shipping operations in the absence of the Shipping Supervisor and perform other related duties as required.

Required Training And Experience

  • Grade 12 or a combination of education and work experience will be considered.
  • Experience with production planning, inventory management, ERP, transportation, ordering and warehouse management systems is considered an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of quality control and inventory management practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
