Intermediate Accountant

Accountant | Grande Prairie

Our client is looking for an Accountant to play a critical role in supporting its accounting operations in Grande Prairie. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys owning their work, working independently, and being trusted with key accounting responsibilities. Reporting directly to the Accounting Supervisor, this is a newly created role due growth and recent acquisitions.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

• Support the month-end close process
• Manage accounts payable activities and related processes
• Maintain accurate and complete financial records
• Contribute to process improvement and overall team effectiveness

What You Bring

• Post-secondary education in accounting or finance coupled with 3-5+ years of relevant accounting experience preferably in a fast-paced and evolving environment
• Working towards a recognised accounting designation is an asset
• Strong accounting systems and software knowledge
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative while maintaining the ability to meet deadlines
• Strong organization skills, attention to detail and high-level of accuracy, and strong ability to follow-through on tasks

Location / work model: This position is based in Grande Prairie, Alberta and requires on-site attendance five days per week.

Compensation: Competitive compensation package including a base salary of $65,000 – 75,000 per year depending on experience, 3 weeks vacation, bonus, RRSP contributions and extended benefits.
