Join Our Team as a Senior Mechanical Designer!
Valiant TMS, a global industry leader, is looking for a Senior Mechanical Designer to join our E.R. St. Denis (Hemming) team! As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you will play a key role in the design and development of custom hemming tools, while driving innovation through the creation of new mechanical systems and engineered solutions.
What You’ll Get To Do
- Analyze proposal product, equipment, customer specifications and process requirements to conceive and produce a practical mechanical design within the limitations defined by the proposed process, cost, time and the availability of equipment or components.
- Under direction and assistance of the Engineering Manager and/or design leader, prepare overall machine layouts and sub-assemblies by integrating predetermined components and manufactured components.
- Preparation of final assembly and detailed drawing packages.
- Prepare design release packages.
- Provide support to design checkers and manufacturing to clarify design issues.
- Communicate critical issues, both positive and negative, to the Manager or Leader.
- Document all conversations with the customer via meeting minutes and project log.
- Ensure all design changes are tracked, logged, and submitted and clearly communicate the impact of a change to the Manager or Leader.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience:
- Experience in tool design using NX would be a bonus
- Should have knowledge of fabrication and machining principles
- Experience sheet metal stamping or Hemming die designs would be recommended
- Qualifications:
- University degree in engineering or college diploma in mechanical engineering technology or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical design experience in tooling, automation equipment, machine design, dies, hemming systems, or related manufacturing environments.
- Skills: Strong safety focus, excellent time management and organizational skills and someone determined and committed to delivering results
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

The expected hourly compensation for this position is $32.00 – $42.00. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skillset, or location.
