About The Role

This is a travelling, project-based position supporting mid-sized construction developments. While the head office is located in Winkler, Manitoba, the successful candidate can live anywhere and will be required to travel to project sites and remain on-site for extended periods as needed.

Current and upcoming project locations include:

  • Dryden, Ontario
  • Fort Frances, Ontario
  • Portage la Prairie, Manitoba
  • Neepawa, Manitoba
  • Kerrobert, Saskatchewan

Future project assignments will vary based on project schedules and business needs.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction professional with strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills who can effectively coordinate trades and keep projects moving safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily construction activities and ensure projects remain on schedule.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, trades, suppliers, site personnel, materials, and equipment.
  • Communicate upcoming work, sequencing, expectations, and site requirements to trades and subcontractors.
  • Monitor project progress against schedules, drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
  • Coordinate material, equipment, and supply deliveries to ensure resources are available when required.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project documentation.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to maintain high standards of safety, quality, and workmanship.
  • Identify deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are completed promptly.
  • Perform quality-control inspections to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, manufacturer requirements, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Identify potential site conflicts, delays, and issues and work with the Project Manager and construction team to resolve them.
  • Provide clear leadership and direction to subcontractors and site personnel.
  • Maintain an organized, professional, accountable, and productive job site.
  • Support effective scheduling, productivity, and overall project execution.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of construction experience, including hands-on site supervision experience.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, building practices, building codes, drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple trades, subcontractors, suppliers, and site activities effectively.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment with changing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and workmanship.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with construction scheduling, project management, or related software.
  • Relevant trade certification, technical education, or construction management education is considered an asset.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Ontario and work on project sites for extended periods.
