Are you passionate about travel and helping people create unforgettable experiences? We are looking for an experienced
Travel Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will provide expert travel advice, plan and book travel arrangements, build strong client relationships, and mentor junior team members while driving sales and delivering exceptional customer service.
Requirements
As a Senior Travel Consultant, You Will
- Plan, sell, and coordinate domestic, transborder, and international travel arrangements.
- Provide expert recommendations on destinations, travel requirements, restrictions, and related costs.
- Book flights, accommodations, tours, cruises, transportation, and vacation packages.
- Negotiate travel package components and pricing with suppliers.
- Manage group travel arrangements and support complex itineraries.
- Promote and sell memberships, travel insurance, and other travel-related products and services.
- Provide clients with information regarding health requirements, entry regulations, and currency exchange.
- Manage travel bookings using Global Distribution Systems (GDS) and other travel software.
- Maintain accurate files, invoices, accounting records, and cash handling procedures.
- Support travel presentations and promotional events.
- Train, mentor, and provide guidance to junior travel consultants.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards.
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Certified Travel Consultant (CTC) designation.
- Valid Saskatchewan Insurance Licence.
- Minimum 5 years of travel industry experience with a proven record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong knowledge of domestic, international, and leisure travel products and suppliers.
- Experience using Global Distribution Systems (GDS) and travel booking platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Travel Manager (CTM) designation, or willingness to pursue certification.
- Experience with group travel planning and supplier negotiations.
- Previous mentoring or training experience.
