Must Haves

  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in mapping and implementing clinical terminologies such as SNOMED CT and LOINC
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of digital exchange standards such as FHIR, clinical terminologies (e.g., SNOMED-CT, LOINC)
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of pan-Canadian digital exchange standards and tooling
  • Hands-on experience implementing terminology solutions

As part of the refreshed digital health and data strategy, the Agency will make a concerted effort to leverage new and existing digital solutions, as part of a clinically-led change program, to make tangible improvements as to how frontline providers work and contribute to bringing joy back to clinical practice.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in mapping and implementing clinical terminologies such as SNOMED CT and LOINC
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of digital exchange standards such as FHIR, clinical terminologies (e.g., SNOMED-CT, LOINC)
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of pan-Canadian digital exchange standards and tooling
  • Hands-on experience implementing terminology solutions
  • Healthcare experience within Canada in acute care, primary care and/or community care settings.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of pan-Canadian digital health standards and tooling.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, and strong partner engagement skills.
  • Time management skills, with the ability to manage tight deadlines and prioritize multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct requirements gathering, develops documentation, including presentations and briefing notes and conduct partner engagement.
  • Work with different partners and subject matter experts from different backgrounds (clinical, business, and technical).
  • Interact with the business partners and subject matter experts in order to understand their requirements through gathering, documenting, and analysing business needs and requirements.
  • Develop, validate and document terminology artifacts

Desired Skills

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Products, with a preference for candidates that have experience with Microsoft based cloud tools (e.g., Microsoft Office 365).
  • Knowledge of Healthcare Information.
  • Ability to readily identify, assess and mitigate implementation and adoption issues.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines.

Notes

Additional Terms

The term of this Engagement Assignment is for 110 Business Days, This Engagement is for up to five (5) days per week, subject to the availability of work assignments and scheduled meetings; actual time commitment may be less. The Engagement Assignment may be extended for unused Business Days at the Agency’s discretion.

The resource will comply with the Agency’s policies and procedures.

The resource will be issued an Agency laptop and is expected to provide at least one additional monitor, an external keyboard and a mouse at their own expense. In addition, when the resource is working from their home location they must have a private office space and are not permitted to work in an open communal space. Internet connection must be hard-wired and suitable bandwidth to support the IT requirements of this role. If these conditions cannot be met within their home office space, the resource will transition to full time in office, and the hybrid option will no longer be available.

The Agency systems cannot be accessed from outside the province of Ontario, and Agency assets including laptops and related equipment cannot be removed from the province of Ontario, without prior written approval from the Agency.
