The Human Resources Coordinator will play an integral role in supporting employees and leaders across The Cahill Group’s diverse lines of business. This position provides hands-on HR support throughout the employee lifecycle, with responsibilities spanning recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, compensation, employee engagement, HR programs, and systems.

The successful candidate will be a well-rounded HR professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and is comfortable balancing multiple priorities. They will be approachable, organized, and solutions-focused, with strong communication and relationship-building skills and the ability to provide practical HR guidance to both employees and leaders. This role is well suited to someone who takes initiative, exercises sound judgment, and enjoys being involved in a broad range of HR activities while contributing to a positive employee experience. This will be a full-time position, working Monday through Friday from our corporate office in St. John's, NL.

What will you do?

  • Coordinate full-cycle recruitment across various lines of business, including job postings, candidate sourcing, prescreening, interviews, reference checks, and the development of strong talent pipelines.
  • Support the onboarding and orientation of new employees, helping to ensure a positive and seamless introduction to the organization.
  • Contribute to employee engagement initiatives by supporting and promoting programs that enhance the overall employee experience.
  • Provide HR guidance and recommendations to managers on best practices, company policies, employee relations matters, and applicable employment legislation.
  • Support fair, equitable, and consistent compensation practices across all lines of business.
  • Coordinate and facilitate required approvals for new hires and changes to existing terms and conditions of employment.
  • Lead student recruitment initiatives for The Cahill Group, including supporting opportunities to attract and develop emerging talent.
  • Develop and deliver HR training, presentations, and program launches, including respectful workplace training and other employee-focused initiatives.
  • Collaborate with employees, the QHSE team, and claims and benefits providers to support Early and Safe Return to Work Plans, ensuring meaningful work opportunities and compliance with corporate and legislative requirements.
  • Conduct exit interviews, identify trends and themes, and provide relevant insights and recommendations to management.
  • Act as a champion and key resource for the HR Management System (HRWize), supporting system implementation, continuous improvement, employee and manager training, and effective utilization across the organization.

What will you bring?

  • Up to 3 years of previous experience in an Human Resources experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline; an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will also be considered.
  • Strong interpersonal, networking, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and effectively support the HR needs of multiple business areas and employee groups.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, positive, and solution-oriented approach to employee and workplace matters.
