Road Maintenance Inspector

The Opportunity
The Roads Maintenance Inspector is responsible for inspecting and reporting on all activities including,
conditions and encroachments on Muskoka District Roads that involve or relate to the operation, maintenance
and repair of the roads, on-site inspection of capital maintenance projects working under minimum supervision.
What you will do: What you will need:

  • Monitor road and bridge maintenance activities,

issues instructions, liaises with area municipal
supervisors and contractors respecting remedial
works, and reports on same

  • Monitor contractor’s work to ensure compliance with

contracts, plans, specifications, policy standards and
good engineering practice for all district work
including capital maintenance projects

  • Coordinate with contractors in monitoring and

comparing progress with proposed schedule

  • Track contract tender quantities and extra work for

payment in conformance with allocated budget

  • Completion of a two (2) year Community

College at the Technician level in a related
field, or equivalent

  • Three to five years progressive experience in

a related municipal environment

  • Member in good standing with O.A.C.E.T.T. -

C.Tech or C.E.T designation preferred

  • Possess a sound knowledge of construction

and maintenance inspection (particularly on
roads), practices and techniques, as well as
knowledge of construction products,
materials and equipment

What we are offering
This is a permanent full-time opportunity at the District. The annualized compensation range for this role is
