SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team. The Manager, Gas Measurement Integrity manages gas measurement acquisition and validation efforts. The Manager ensures accurate, reliable, and timely acquisition, validation and reporting of gas measurement data used for daily transport, storage business and month end billing. This includes managing the implementation, upgrade, maintenance and enhancement of measurement software applications and systems Position Details

Key Accountabilities
  • Manage, lead, mentor and support the Gas Measurement Integrity (GMI) team to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of GMI services
  • Establish, cultivate and nurture effective communication and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including internal departments and vendors, who rely on or are integral to the accurate, reliable and timely delivery of GMI’s services
  • Oversee the development, configuration, implementation, administration, maintenance and enhancement of systems for the acquisition, validation, calculation, retention and reporting of gas measurement data, ensuring measurement data transfer is effective, data is secure, audit capabilities are functioning and regulatory requirements are met
  • Develop, review, and approve engineering designs, software implementations, standards, specifications, processes, procedures, business reports, analyses and recommendations relating to gas measurement integrity, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, corporate standards and best practices
  • Direct and support the investigation, analysis and resolution of complex measurement problems and concerns, including gas measurement disputes, ensuring that resulting measurement adjustment recommendations are defensible, data driven and approved in accordance with documented procedures
  • Oversee the planning, development and implementation of gas measurement projects and initiatives to improve measurement accuracy and enhance gas measurement acquisition, validation and reporting services
  • Maintain an awareness of industry developments and best practices
  • Other related duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electronic Systems or Petroleum preferred)
  • Professional Engineer Designation and registered to practice in Saskatchewan
  • Seven (7) years related experience, including extensive background in gas measurement, as well as knowledge of regulatory, industry best practices and standards related to gas measurement
  • Knowledge of Measurement Data Validation, SCADA and communication systems and/or experience with EVC’s, FFC’s, Orifice Meters, Turbine Meters, Ultrasonic Meters, gas sampling procedures and gas chromatographs. The ability to provide technical support is considered an asset
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with demonstrated competency in complex problem solving
  • Effective supervisory, coaching and mentorship skills with ability to foster a culture focused on safety, innovation and teamwork

A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered Additional Information
  • Travel, including overnight stays away from bid headquarters, is required on occasion
  • A Class 5 Driver’s License is required
