Reporting to the Director of Medical and Academic Affairs, the Manager, Medical Affairs is responsible for the general management and operational functions of the Medical Affairs Department. The Manager demonstrates leadership and works collaboratively with team members and all other Departments throughout Lakeridge. The Manager supports the team in the development and implementation of efficient and effective systems to support the goals of the organization while adhering to company policies.

  • Oversee Medical Affairs team members, processes, initiatives, and projects;
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, policies, standards, and guidelines;
  • Liaise with Medical Affairs team members, LH leadership (including privileged staff leaders), privileged staff, and support project development and implementation as required;
  • Work with the Medical Affairs team and leadership ensuring the effective and appropriate utilization of resources within the program, working within budget resources, facilitating team building, problem solving, and conflict resolution;
  • Establish, interpret, facilitate, organize, and implement Medical Affairs policies and processes in collaboration with the Director;
  • Engage academic and community organizations/agencies in collaboration with the Manager, Academic Affairs and Director to promote the LH academic mandate and recruitment efforts;
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with privileged staff leaders and senior leaders to identify current and future needs, priorities, and opportunities for improvement;
  • Apply best practices to Medical Affairs processes; and
  • Inform, develop, monitor, and evaluate tools, applications, and systems to promote data integration and enable the use of data to support strategic objectives.


  • Bachelor's degree in a health discipline, human resources management, financial management or related field required;
  • Knowledge and experience interpreting privileged staff-related legislation including the Public Hospitals Act;
  • Leadership/management skills including financial, human resources, problem solving, change management, evaluation and planning, and utilization management skills;
  • Demonstrated experience with inter-organizational collaboration activities;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including an aptitude for related systems problem-solving;
  • Communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all levels of staff within the organization and external parties;
  • Experience with the Epic Health Information System considered an asset;
  • A proven track record of achieving results and inspiring confidence and commitment;
  • Well-developed negotiation and conflict management/resolution skills;
  • Demonstrated related experience and a high-degree of proficiency working with databases, spreadsheets, and related reports preferably in a healthcare environment;
  • High degree of proficiency in all MS Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) (tested)
  • Knowledge & experience with CMaRS;
  • Must have satisfactory performance record;
